Account Executive at Goldman Sachs. Senior Relations Manager at ZocDoc. Partner at Lavin & Associates. Director of Juggling at Cirque De Soleil. 300 million of us on LinkedIn. So many of us blend in like a chameleon in the Amazon jungle. If I had one tip for LinkedIn it would be this.. Wait.. Do they have chameleons in the Amazon Jungle? That would be quite a blunder if not. Back to the point. I do wish more people new the true power of LinkedIn. A few people I know have successfully moved up the pay scale latter and quite quickly by simply having a strong presence on LinkedIn. How does one have a strong presence on LinkedIn? Two words: BE DIFFERENT. If your profile resembles every other profile, chances are you are not being different. I know LinkedIn is supposed to be professional but professional can sometimes be stale and boring. Account Executive is boring.
Some people could surely afford to freshen up their profiles to a certain extent. For a professional in today’s world it is an absolute necessity to be on LinkedIn. I had a LinkedIn back when my only credential was bartender at some sports bar. And that was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. And only because a professor told me too. Or should i say master? Yes those were a bunch of cheesy Star Wars references.
Being that I am a big fan of Star Wars and a big fan of LinkedIn I just had to share this infographic with the lovely L&A community. So use the force and become a LinkedIn Jedi!
